Recognise and use chronological language to describe and order of events

Introduced in the Year 1 curriculum as: "Sequence events in chronological order using language [for example, before and after, next, first, today, yesterday, tomorrow, morning, afternoon and evening]"

There are 7 days in each week.

They are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

There are 12 months in each year.

They are January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November and December.

Example 1:

Today is Thursday, tomorrow is Friday, yesterday was Wednesday.

Example 2:

After Sunday, it is Monday.

Example 3:

January is the first month of the year. February comes after January.

Example 4:

What month comes after April?
