We measure the capacity of liquid things in litres (l) and millilitres (ml). We use items like measuring jugs and graduated cylinders to measure capacity. 

When we have smaller amounts of liquid, we use millilitres. When we have large amounts of liquid, we use litres.

1000 ml = 1 litre.

We use words like full, half full, empty and nearly full and nearly empty to describe capacity.

Example 1 => This cup of milk is 100 millilitres (ml)

Example 2 => This carton of milk holds 2 litres or 2000 ml.

Example 3 => This cup is nearly full of tea.

Example 4 => The measuring jug is filled with 750 millilitres of liquid.

Example 5 => The measuring jug is full.The measuring jug contains 1000 millilitres of liquid.1 litre = 1000 millilitres. So, we can also say the jug holds 1 litre of liquid.
