Changing millilitres to litres

Introduced in the Year 4, Year 5, Year 6 curriculum as: "Convert between different units of measure [for example, kilometre to metre; hour to minute]"

Litres (L) and millilitres (ml) are used to measure capacity - how much liquid something holds.

There are 1000ml in a L .

Example 1:

2000 ml = 2L

4500 ml = 4.5L

Example 2:

3.4L = 3400 ml

0.6L = 600 ml
