Recall and use multiplication facts for the 2 times table

Introduced in the Year 2, Year 4 curriculum as: "Recall multiplication and division facts for multiplication tables up to 12 × 12"

Learning your multiplication facts for the 2 times table will help you with

these questions.

Here they are:

0 x 2 = 0

1 x 2 = 2

2 x 2 = 4

3 x 2 = 6

4 x 2 = 8

5 x 2 = 10

6 x 2 = 12

7 x 2 = 14

8 x 2 = 16

9 x 2 = 18

10 x 2 = 20

11 x 2 = 22

12 x 2 = 24

Remember that multiplying by 2 is the same as doubling.

4 x 2 = 8 and double 4 is 8.

Even numbers end in 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8.

Multiples of 2 end in 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8.

All multiples of 2 are even!

All even numbers are multiples of 2!
