How does DoodleMaths work?

Our digital learning platforms create individual work plans for children from Foundation to Year 8, intelligently tailored to their strengths and weaknesses. Designed to reinforce existing knowledge while gradually introducing new concepts, DoodleMaths is ideal for supplementing school learning at home.
Curriculum-aligned questions are delivered in short, fun and snappy exercises on computer, tablet or phone. Little and often works best – just 10 minutes a day is all you need to boost your child's confidence and ability in maths.

DoodleMaths' intelligent technology does all of the hard work - there's no need to set or mark your child's work. Parents can get a snapshot of their child's progress on-the-go with our DoodleConnect app, or login into our Parent Dashboard for more in-depth reports and insights.

What our users say

DoodleMaths is an amazing tool
DoodleMaths has been the key element in encouraging further learning. Using DoodleMaths has kept Chloe's enthusiasm going and built her confidence ... The exercises are a quick way for Chloe to do that little bit each day. The phone apps make it accessible anywhere, even on the beach! I enjoy watching her progress on DoodleConnect. [It has] made it easy for [her] to work little and often. I can’t thank you enough Doodle!

It helped so much during lockdown
It’s taught my 7-year-old so much during lockdown. If you told me my daughter would be able to confidently explain and answer graphs and fractions within a few weeks, I’d have laughed at you! Brilliant app, will continue to use.

She loves Doodling daily
The lovely thing is that after a day at school she isn't keen to pick up a pencil, but she will happily do her DoodleMaths. Consolidating her column addition and subtraction was one memorable success - you have such a clever way of doing it, and it really reinforced the method for her!

It consolidates school learning
DoodleMaths definitely helps consolidate what they’ve learned in school. I love the bite-sized nature of it which aligns with their level of concentration at this age. The Summer Challenge has motivated Ben to engage more often - classic behavioural science in practice!

Confidence and ability have soared
[My daughter's] DoodleMaths Age has improved by almost two years in just over six months! She loves doing the maths every day and is delighted to earn her stars. Her confidence (and ability) have soared.

The app is fantastic!
DoodleMaths and DoodleEnglish have helped our children learn pre and post-COVID lockdown. The whole app is sturdy and almost bulletproof. Its cost is a small price to pay for such good academia.

DoodleMaths is excellent!
It is so accessible and quick to get started! We use the phone app which means Doodle is always with us wherever we go. George’s ability and confidence with maths has increased dramatically and he is definitely enjoying maths more! A big thank you to Doodle - we would not have survived homeschooling without you!

DoodleMaths mimics the actions of a good tutor. Its in-built intelligence identifies the strengths and weaknesses unique to each child and constructs a work programme specific to their needs. It creates an immersive, interactive learning experience for young children, who are simply guided through the programme to the areas they need to work on.
Within seconds after logging into the app, children can be working on short, snappy exercises.
5 times a week, children will need to do their 7/8/9/10-a-day (their work programme) and a New This Week at least once a week, before they can access engaging games and their selected avatar.

DoodleMaths can be used with or without a wi-fi or data connection.
However, the app only synchronises with the Parent and Teacher dashboards (and other devices) when it has a connection. If there is no connection, the app will store progress locally in the device, and synchronise when the connection is regained.

DoodleMaths age is a way of measuring your child’s overall level of understanding. If a child has a DoodleMaths age of 7.5, they will be working at the level of an average 7-and-a-half year old.
We calculate this by looking at the point your child is in their work programme in terms of the questions they are currently being asked. We then compare this to the average age of other children in our system who are at a similar point in their programme.
DoodleMaths will begin by asking your child questions when they first start using the app and do a number of 7-a-day exercises. We record the areas where they find questions difficult, until they reach a point where we know enough to construct their work programme. At this point, their DoodleMaths age will be visible on both the Parent Dashboard and Teacher Dashboard.
